Health and Wellbeing
At Asquith we are committed to the development of the children's social, emotional skills and their health and well-being. We are committed to developing the children's responsibility to themselves, others in school and the wider community around them.
Personal, social and health education (PSHE) enables pupils to become well rounded individuals, who can make the right choices to enable themselves to be healthy, indepdendent and responsible young people.
Every week we have an ethos statement which is covered within PSHE lessons, as well as being a focus for the week.
From Year 1 to Year 6 children are taught about drugs and sex and relationship education.
It is in Year 5 and 6 when children learn about puberty and sex. Parent are invited to a meeting to discuss what is taught and to look at resources that are used.
One PE lesson a week is taught by an external sports coach. The focus of the lessons are games skills. Every half term a different year group are invited to take part in a sports competition against the other local primary schools.
