Remembrance Parade

parade

Macie and Thomas did a great job representing our school at the Remembrance Parade and laying our wreath at the war memorial. Thomas even wore some of his grandad's medals.

Other good news this week too!  Well done to Ellie Rae Scott for winning the competition to design a charity Christmas card for the White Rose and St Luke's Cares.  Her card will be on sale at the Christmas Fair.  And to Fox Kirk who will be switching on the Morley Christmas lights after winning an art competition with Morley Town Council!

White Rose Community Award

gill on: Mrs Austerfield's Blog

I was very proud to attend the 'Community Award' ceremony at the White Rose Centre this morning, where we were presented with an award for the work that we have done with the local community and the White Rose Centre.  The children were equally proud when I came back to school and showed them.  Well done to everyone!

Forget-Me-Not Sundial

The children worked with Penny Rowe to create a sundial for our 'Forget-Me-Not' garden.  They carved the post with designs inspired by 'La Gerbe' (The Sheaf), which is a piece of artwork by Matisse.  Please visit the garden to see the children's work.

Happy Thursday!

Year 6 are on a visit to Eden Camp today, and they sound like they are having a great time!

We also have artist Penny Rowe in school for a couple of days, working with some children on a sculpture for our 'Forget Me Not Garden.  It is a sundial with designs based on the work of Matisse and will be installed in our garden as soon as possible.

Please don't forget our Macmillan Bun sale tomorrow.  Drop off you buns and biscuits tomorrow morning.

Welcome back to school!  It has been lovely to see the children return to school with such positive attitudes.  They have made a good start to the new year.
