3D shape fun!

Amanda Ellis (amanda) on: Red and Green Butterflies BLOG!

In class we have enjoyed testing out which 3D shapes can roll. The children used 3D solid shapes and also real objects from the classroom to test and then record their answers. Together we then discussed why some shapes could and couldn't roll talking about the properties of the shapes. Watch the 3D shape song that we have enjoyed singing to in class...

Alien takeover!

Amanda Ellis (amanda) on: Red and Green Butterflies BLOG!

The Butterfly Classes have enjoyed all things ALIEN this week after the spaceship landed in the playground! Children have enjoyed writing letters to the aliens to tell them where their spaceship is, designing their own playdough alien and making alien masks.

Spaceship crash at Asquith Primary

Amanda Ellis (amanda) on: Red and Green Butterflies BLOG!

This morning we arrived at school to find something exciting...a spaceship had crash landed in the Reception playground and a story book was left for us! We enjoyed listening to the story 'Aliens Who Love Underpants' with lots of laughter!

For our morning job we wrote about what had happened to the spaceship.

Around the World Sponsored Run

Amanda Ellis (amanda) on: Red and Green Butterflies BLOG!

Reception enjoyed taking part in the 'Around the World' sponsored run for the Forget Me Not children's hospice. The children enjoyed stretching their bodies in preparation and challenged themselves by running as far as they could and at their own pace.

Well done Butterfly Class!
