Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It's designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better, and close the gap between them and their peers.
Free School Meals
In the 2022 to 2023 financial year, schools will receive £1,385 for pupils in Reception to Year 6 who are eligible for free school meals or have been at any point in the last 6 years.
Children Looked After
Schools will also receive £2,410 for each pupil identified in the spring school census as either being in the care of the Local Authority or having left Local Authority care because of one of the following:
• adoption
• a special guardianship order
• a child arrangements order
• a residence order
Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they choose. However they will be held accountable for how they have used the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families. Our strategy is for three years, however it will be evaluated regularly by staff and governors.
