The Nest
At Asquith Primary School, we are committed to reducing the barriers to learning which many of our pupils face. We understand our pupils and their challenges well and have developed targeted provision to meet their needs.
Our learning space, 'The Nest', provides identified pupils with a high level of support in order to develop key learning skills and reduce inequalities in the classroom. This includes support with:
- Managing emotions and behaviours.
- Securing 'the fundamentals' in English and Maths to enable pupils to more easily access classroom learning.
- Developing 'behaviour for learning', such as listening skills, teamwork, resilience and independence.
We use a combination of structured lessons and practical intervention sessions in The Nest and tailor our provision to meet the children's individual needs.
Our aim is to empower these children so that they are not at a disadvantgae to their peers and have all the skills needed to be successful, independent learners in the classroom environment.
