What do I do if I have a concern about my child?
Dealing with Concerns and Complaints
There are times when we feel a little worried or disappointed. We want to have an effective and clear process for you to talk through any concerns you or your child might have. We hope that it helps everyone to solve problems quickly and effectively.
First Action
Arrange a time to meet the Class Teacher at the end of the school day (if you are unable to see the Class Teacher, you can ring the school office and they will arrange a suitable time for you both). This is the first step as the Class Teachers know your child well and will be able to answer your questions straight away about well-being, routiness and progress.
Second Action
If you feel that your concerns have not been addressed then contact the office to arrange a meeting with the Phase Leader responsible for your childs year group. You will be asked if you have already met with the class Teacher. This is the next step as Phase Leaders know the systems in place for those year groups:-
Miss Hickling – Assistant Head (EYFS & KS1 Leader)
Mrs Dring – Assistant Head (KS2 Leader)
Third Action
If you feel that your concerns have not been addressed then contact the office to escalate this to a member of the Leadership & Pastroal Team. If your conern relates to your childs academic progress please speak to the Deputy Head. If your concern is around SEND issues please speak to our SENDco. If you conern is around your childs emotional wellbeing please speak to a member of the inclusion team:-
Academic concerns - Mrs Blackburn - Deputy Head
SEND concerns - Miss Pollard - SENDco
Pastoral concerns - Inclusion Team
Following your meeting with the Class Teacher, Phase Leader or Leadership/Pastoral team, your concerns may be shared with the Headteacher who may then arrange to meet with you. As a last resort, you may wish to forward your complaint/conerns to the Chair of Governors.
Rest assured that we will do all we can to resolve any issues. We are dedidacted to ensure everyone has a voice and feels valued. This simple action plan is to ensure we can address any issues/concerns as quickly as possible to the satisfaction of all parties.
