First Aid and Medical Arrangements
Illness or Accident During the School Day
In the unfortunate event of your child having an accident or becoming unwell whilst at school, parents / carers will be contacted immediately using the emergency contact details you have provided us. It is essential you keep these details up to date, please let the school office know if your details change.
Minor accidents such as grazes may not be notified to parents until the end of the day. If your child bumps their head, they should come home with a form to notify you of this.
Medication During the School Day
We would appreciate it if your child could have their medication around the school day if at all possible. Should your child require medication to be administered whilst at school please come to the office to complete the appropriate forms and staff will ensure that this is administered in accordance with your instructions. Please note that we are only allowed to administer prescribed medication so this will need to be provided in the original packaging and with pharmacy labels.
If your child is suffering from a contagious infection. It is essential that they remain at home until the risk of passing on the infection has gone. Children suffering from sickness and or diarrhoea must not return to school for 48 hours after the last instance.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE A NUT FREE SCHOOL - WE HAVE CHILDREN AND STAFF WITH SEVERE ALLERGIES. WE WOULD ALSO APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD AVOID CELERY AND KIWI FOR THE SAME REASONS. THANK YOU.
If your child has any food allergies, dietary requirements or medical conditions please ensure you notify the school office as soon as possible. You may need to have a meeting to discuss a Health Care Plan to ensure your child’s needs are fully met.
